When you upload a photo or video on Instagram (for a post, reel or story), it is often important to edit it beforehand. How do you use the app?

First, download the edits app from the appstore or playstore.
You log into the app with your own Instagram account.

Using the plus icon at the bottom of the screen, you can start a new project. You have the option of uploading images from your phone, but you can also take photos and videos directly within the app. You do this by tapping the round camera button at the bottom.

In addition, you can add pinned notes to jot down ideas and create folders in which to collect inspiration.

By clicking the play icon, you can access reels that Instagram offers as inspiration, or reels from accounts you follow. You can use the sound of a reel, make notes with stickies about what appeals to you in a particular reel, or save the reel to watch back later

Finally, the three bar screen shows your reels' statistics, giving you insight into the reach and performance of your content.

How do I edit videos through the Instagram Edits app?

Once you start a new project, you can choose to record something directly with the camera, or import existing images from your phone. The editing interface is very similar to Instagram's, making it intuitive to work with.

Editing is done using layers. So you can easily add different elements, such as music, text, voice-overs, subtitles, overlays, sound effects, cutouts, stickers or GIFs.
Are you satisfied with your video? Then you can immediately upload it in high resolution to Instagram or Facebook. You have the option to export in 2K or even 4K, and Instagram ensures that the image quality is preserved during uploading.
